Art is about shaking up the slumber of every day life. Let this be a reminder to live life to the fullest.

If it’s not a hell yes, it’s a hell no. Tell yourself this mantra when uncertainty lurks into your consciousness and let your intuition guide you. Deep down, we always know what’s right.

This is my first NFT and a tribute to Father, who taught me how to live life with an open heart and mind. He inspired me to always trust my inner woman wisdom and to never dim my light for anyone. My artwork is a celebration of following this sacred guidance.

Floating into ‘Love. Shebang. Disco.’ drew inspiration from a wildly vivid coordinated group activity harmoniously experienced amongst painters, creators, and lovers while drifting downstream of the Hudson River aboard a 2 person kayak with a party of 4. Comfort amongst land was not a certainty and neither was it appetizing to the group of ramblers who have unknowingly become hypnotized by the flowing technicolor water pushing them closer to a waterfall. Blissfully unaware and impervious that some of the floating faces in the water will never be seen again. 

Love. Shebang. Disco. began as a 5 x 4’ portrait painting utilizing spray paint and acrylic brush work. 
After a high quality photo was taken, minor digital alterations were applied, and then the animation team at Cryptic Gallery brought the technicolor river to life for its final form.

Sometimes in Texas, you'll get a wild hair, as I'd imagine you might catch anywhere else. Often times, that wild hare will put a nice dinner on your plate and sometimes, well, that wild hair will just get you in a pickle or a heap of trouble. In this instance... it might be a little bit of both.

Old Virgil here was kind enough to lend us a few minutes of his time to model, but really - what's time to a horse. BCWags on the other hand - had no time to spare, but I hunted him down like the wild hare said and here we are...  talking about men's hairs, horses and fine dining.

I'm sure it's someone's birthday out there somewhere and if not, yours is just around the corner. Hope  you enjoy this doohickey of a song and more-so, catch yourself some wild hares soon - I hear they're good eatin' and worth the trouble.

I wanted to create a 3d wooden sculpture piece that was site specific to a brick alcove. My idea was to focus on inclusivity and fun. I came up with Embrace the Unique surrounded by multicolored hands in swanky looking jackets rhythmically dancing to the sounds of a UFO DJ booth blasting magic into a digital landscape. This is a physical piece that was scanned into 3d. is 4w x 9t. It is accompanied  by a super funky lighting setup that you can change with a bluetooth app on the users phone.  It is a fun and  vibrant celebration of the uniqueness that we all have inside of us and embraces the crossover that we have with the digital and analog worlds that we live in.

This is the genesis image in the series entitled "Occurrence,",based on the story below. All the works in this series are evolutions in the stages of the story.  Each image works on its own, but together and in context they tell a tale that leaves room for the imagination of the viewer to complete. 

The Occurrence: Part I

Out of the blue of an otherwise perfectly ordinary day, it came careening down from the sky, crashing in a spectacular and seemingly endless cloud of shimmering ash that spread throughout the land, sparing nothing. No one could possibly have known what would ensue. When the dust finally settled, it was onto a world that would be forever transformed. 

Some say it began on the day that The Child first noticed an almost imperceptible difference in the colors on a snake. But it was still the Before Times, and no one yet understood.

What All agreed on, in retrospect, is that there is a dark side to seductive beauty that at first remains unseen…

Two days after the murder of George Floyd, I posted an Instagram story asking the Austin community if anyone knew of a wall upon which I could paint a mural in response to the news. Within 5 minutes “Native Hostel”, located in East Austin, replied with an emphatic “YES”. Within two days of the green light, I began composing and painting “If He Cant Breathe, We Cant Breathe”. I already knew that I wanted to do more than simply depict George with angel wings, a halo, and “R.I.P.” because this was a powerful moment, a pregnant pause spring loaded with an opportunity to not, pay homage to victims of Police brutality, but more importantly, bring as many different people together as possible to step forth into OUR truth and ultimately heal.

If He Can't Breathe, We Can't Breathe

I love it when the abstract textures I apply to the inside of 3D spheres resemble  landscapes. This one looks like a coastal tide pool to me. Close inspection reveals blocky voxel-like shapes which confirms the scene's digital origin. Creating it in the 32 bit color space allowed for more shimmering gradients reminiscent of mother-of-pearl sea shells.

Deep Sleep

I lived on the Upper West Side of Manhattan for fifteen years. This piece is like the mental map I had in my head of my neighborhood. My apartment is in the largest center building, and all the places I went to are in the periphery. I created this scene inside of a 3D sphere by creating hundreds of copies of a box with windows and placing them on the vertices of the sphere which was then made invisible. I added lights inside to create shadows and shapes, and captured the scene with a spherical camera which created a flattened complete image of the sphere's inside surface.

Future sustainable development is about technology taking care of nature. We have to see Universe as a whole system we all are connected to, and therefore, we are all one.

In this series i have incorporated some images from parts of my body that I no longer have and new parts that have been built to keep me connected. I appreciate movement, I appreciate my experiences, I appreciate my body.

In this series I use images of my body, bones and pieces I no longer have, or what has been put in its place.

As a young child, one form of treatment for my JRA was to inject gold into my body weekly (this had to be injected in my hip area .. I did not have JRA in my hips) the drug worked and then it didn’t. Doctors would always stop my treatment when I was showing signs of remission, but I would flare up soon after and each time worse than before …and we would have to start treatment all over again… this went on for many years even into high school.

Kintsugi is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery by mending the areas of breakage with a gold mixture. I like to think that is what they were trying to do for me.

I no longer have my hips. Remembering how much pain they caused me, how much grief & sadness, falling down unexpectedly in the middle of an intersection, or getting stuck on the subway stairs in rush hour..is something that is
